LEED Charrette

A charrette is an intensive, one- or two-day collaborative session where building stakeholders and building experts address particular design or project issues. If your goal is to generate possible design solutions and strategies for greening a building as quickly as possible, then the LEED Charrette is your means to this end. It also serves to kick-off LEED implementation as the Cadmus LEED Charrette is a forum for those who can influence project decisions to meet and begin planning the project. As a gathering of all key stakeholders in the LEED certification process, it facilitates agreement on project goals. By soliciting ideas, issues, and concerns early in the project process, it saves time and money and gives an early sense of collective enthusiasm with realistic goals and directions.

Cadmus will give participants an overview of the fundamentals of green building, the green building movement, and the LEED rating systems, as well as providing expert knowledge and counsel for greening strategies. The most fundamental goal of the Cadmus LEED Charrette is to establish a project implementation plan for the certification effort – a  plan which aims to show what needs to be accomplished, how it can be accomplished, who participates and their roles and responsibilities, and when the work will occur, with a proposed schedule for completion. The final result will be a summary report of the findings and ideas of the Charrette, which you can use as your roadmap to greening your building.
