GSA LEED EBOM & Guiding Principles Portfolio Certification Program
Supporting GSA in meeting high performance green building goals
Cadmus is working to develop and implement a cutting-edge solution to meet high performance green building goals for U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) buildings. Cadmus’ approach facilitates participation in the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED EB Portfolio Program and meets green building criteria as outlined in the Guiding Principles for Sustainable Existing Buildings. This approach encompasses all required policies, procedures, training materials, and quality control items, which are supported by a robust, Web-enabled tool.
The program includes tools and resources designed to assess and pre-screen buildings in order to identify appropriate candidate buildings for LEED EB certification and gap analysis in order to identify no-cost and low-cost improvements. Embedded in the program are project checklists for building practices, credit compliance tools, portfolio-level performance tools, report cards, and a series of web-based training programs. The program maps each of the Guiding Principles for Sustainable Existing Buildings to one or more credits under the LEED EB rating system.
As part of this program, GSA is pursuing LEED EB volume certification for 25 buildings nationally between September 2012 and December 2013. The GSA is also documenting compliance of the Federal Guiding Principles (GP) in FY13 and developing an Environmental tracking Protocol and Program.
