Karen Anderson

Principal

Karen Anderson leads teams delivering projects within the economic policy and governance service area in Cadmus’ international development division. She directs programs on behalf of government and business clients to address social inequity, gender inequality, and public financial management, and manages partner relationships and new business development.

Prior to joining Cadmus, Karen worked at the World Bank, managing finance and operations process improvement at the Africa Gender Innovation Lab. With over 16 years of experience designing, developing, managing, and evaluating international programs, she has worked across priority sectors including health, economics, governance, humanitarian assistance, and is an expert in gender equality and women’s economic empowerment. Her experience includes the management and delivery of projects in complex field office settings, including significant post-conflict work.

Karen holds a master’s degree in international development and economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a bachelor’s degree in English and women’s and gender studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
