Cadmus’ Employee-Directed Charitable Giving Committee Announces Recipients of Q2 Donations

Waltham, Mass., October 7, 2013—The Cadmus Group, Inc.’s (Cadmus’) employee-directed charitable giving committee today announced the recipients of the company’s donations for the second quarter. These recipients represent a wide range of projects that reflect the values of Cadmus and its employee-owners.

“At Cadmus, we are committed to creating social value by improving the communities where we live, both through our support for our clients and through our personal actions,” said President and CEO Ian Kline. “Our employee-directed giving committee is an opportunity for our employee-owners to be directly involved in decisions about Cadmus’ community involvement, and an opportunity for Cadmus as a whole to directly support causes that our staff value. Because we ask employees who are making a request to have a personal stake in the charitable organization they put forward, we know these organizations are important to our colleagues.”

This quarter’s recipients are:

  • Engineers Without Borders, Boston Professionals Chapter (Tanzania Project): Cadmus analyst Kelly Vaden requested a donation to support development of a rainwater catchment system for clean drinking water for two Tanzanian villages.
  • Massachusetts Elks Veterans Services: This organization, proposed by senior project cost accountant Kim Calder, sponsors numerous events throughout the year to care for and comfort veterans who are less fortunate, homeless, or hospitalized.
  • Seeds of Solidarity: Associate Josh Habib’s submission supports at-risk teenagers by providing a positive outlet to grow food locally and sustainably.
  • Waltham Fields Community Farm (WCFC): This submission by analyst Kelsey Wallace is a matching donation for funds raised by Cadmus staff in Waltham during Earth Week 2013 in support of WCFC’s mission to promote local agriculture and food access through socially, ecologically, and economically sustainable farming operations and educational programs.
  • Winter Park Pop Warner: Associate Matt Cale requested these funds to sponsor participants who cannot afford registration fees in the organization’s youth football and cheerleading program through its Support-a-Player Program.
  • World Vision: Senior associate Aaron Jenniges requested a donation to supplement an employee’s fundraising efforts on behalf of clean water projects in developing nations.

Cadmus launched the employee-directed charitable giving program in 2006 to provide employees the opportunity to be directly involved in deciding how and where Cadmus provides charitable support. The committee meets quarterly to evaluate applications and allocate donations.
