Cadmus Awarded 5-year, $38 Million Global Environmental Compliance Support Contract with USAID
Waltham, Mass., October 31, 2013—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today that it has been awarded a 5-year, $38 million Global Environmental Management Support (GEMS) contract by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to provide global environmental compliance and environmentally sound design and management (ESDM) support. This award enables Cadmus to continue work initiated under a predecessor contract of the same name.
Under GEMS, Cadmus will continue to undertake ESDM and environmental compliance training for USAID staff and implementing partners, environmental impact assessments, forestry and biodiversity assessments, reviews of USAID missions’ environmental compliance processes, environmental compliance document development and review support, and on-demand research and analysis.
“We are excited to have this opportunity to continue and build on the successes of our work with USAID,” said President and CEO Ian Kline. “Environment is a critical pillar of sustainable development, and our work will help safeguard the welfare of communities and the environmental resources and ecosystems upon which sustainable development depends. We believe that development projects achieve maximum benefits when conducted in accordance with environmentally sound practices, and we look forward to continuing to support USAID in this crucial work.”
Cadmus’ International Development Assistance services support federal and private organizations that rely upon sustainable and environmentally sound initiatives to build lasting stability in developing countries worldwide.
Cadmus will be supported in this contract by its GEMS partners Sun Mountain International, Battelle, The Cloudburst Group, Eurasia Environmental Associates, Mott MacDonald, Neptune and Company, and World Education, as well as local partners in Africa, Asia, Haiti, and the Middle East providing in-depth local knowledge, field logistics, and access to highly qualified in-region environmental professionals.
