Cadmus to Develop Water Efficiency Guide for Airports
Waltham, Mass., June 16, 2014—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today that it has been awarded a contract to develop a water efficiency management guidebook for airport practitioners in the United States as part of a research project for the Transportation Research Board’s (TRB’s) Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP). Cadmus is supported on this contract by CDM Smith.
Large amounts of water and energy are consumed at airports to support airport operations. While airports have begun to implement common water efficiency measures, lack of awareness and lack of guidance in terms of identifying, evaluating, selecting, and implementing the most appropriate practices still present challenges.
Cadmus is leading a research project to develop a guidebook and tools that airport operators can use to design and institute a water efficiency management program specific to their facilities. This guidebook, including tools, will enable airport operators to understand water uses and usage at airports, determine the appropriate levels of water use for their airports, and develop water efficiency management action plans.
Cadmus works with federal, state, and local government clients and private firms to increase the efficiency of transportation practices and programs through methods that reduce harmful emissions, save water and energy, and minimize waste. Our sustainable transportation solutions help lower fuel dependence, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect critical assets, and support healthy communities and habitats while managing costs across the life cycle.
