Cadmus’ Sahar Abbaszadeh Recognized for Outstanding USGBC Service
Waltham, Mass., August 4, 2014—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today that Sahar Abbaszadeh, an associate in the firm’s energy services division, has been recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) as an Above and Beyond Volunteer. Ms. Abbaszadeh has volunteered on the USGBC’s Indoor Environmental Quality Technical Advisory Group for six years, including one year as the group’s vice chair.
USGBC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a more sustainable, healthy, and prosperous built environment through market transformation. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® (LEED) is a program implemented by USGBC for the rating and certification of high performance green buildings; USGBC’s technical advisory groups make recommendations on the direction of the LEED green building rating system and help USGBC develop new rating systems and respond to technical challenges arising from LEED’s implementation.
In her volunteer capacity, Ms. Abbaszadeh has “gone above and beyond in [her] role to promote a better understanding of the LEED rating system and certification process,” said a USGBC representative, applauding her leadership and real-world perspective. “[Her] work has undoubtedly advanced the importance of occupant well-being in green buildings.”
At Cadmus, Ms. Abbaszadeh has supported numerous LEED green building certification projects in the residential, educational, and commercial sectors. She is currently assisting California’s investor-owned utilities in developing a lighting market transformation strategy and updating the California lighting solutions workbook. She is a licensed architect in California, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
