Cadmus Analyzes Options for Protecting Public Health During Energy Upgrades for U.S. EPA
Waltham, Mass., September 8, 2014—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today that it has been awarded a contract to support the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with policy feasibility analysis and program strategy to explore opportunities to address health risks, particularly radon exposure, during energy upgrade activity in various building types.
Emerging evidence indicates that some relationship exists between energy upgrade activity and changes in radon levels, though the exact nature of that relationship is still being explored. Cadmus will research and develop the analysis to support possible policy and program opportunities for delivering public health protection through energy upgrade programs. This project will also explore opportunities to address radon within a range of different types of energy management programs in the private and public sectors.
Cadmus works with government agencies, nongovernmental organizations, and private entities whose aim is to improve the health of individuals and entire populations—especially those that are medically underserved and vulnerable.
