Cadmus Announces Employee-Directed Charitable Donations for First Quarter

Waltham, Mass., September 23, 2014—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today the recipients of the company’s employee-directed charitable giving committee for the first financial quarter of fiscal year 2015. The popular employee-directed charitable giving program gives Cadmus employees the opportunity to have a direct involvement in deciding how and where the firm provides charitable support.

“I’m thrilled to see that Cadmus’ employee-directed charitable giving program has gotten off to another great year’s start, thanks to the requests of our dedicated and passionate employees,” said President and CEO Ian Kline. “In the projects we support our clients with, and the worthwhile organizations we support with our families, friends, and colleagues, we’re fortunate to be able to create social value and improve people’s lives through causes such as these.”

This quarter’s recipients are:

  • Winter Park Pop Warner: Cadmus associate Matt Cale requested these funds to sponsor participants who cannot afford registration fees in the organization’s youth football and cheerleading program through its Support-a-Player Program. Cadmus is proud to support this organization for a second season.
  • Routt County 4-H: Principal Jane Colby, an active volunteer with her local 4-H chapter, requested these funds to support the organization’s scholarship fund. 4-H facilitates hands-on youth learning activities in the areas of science, healthy living, and food security.
  • Pan-Mass Challenge: The Pan-Mass Challenge raises money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through an annual bike-a-thon that crosses the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Senior bookkeeper Lena Guebenlian has been a longtime support of this event.
  • Martha’s Table: Washington, D.C.-based Martha’s Table addresses emergency needs with food and clothing programs and aims to break the long cycle of poverty with education and family support services. Members of Cadmus’ public health team, including request submitter Angana Roy, have volunteered their time at Martha’s Table together.
  • Mama Hope Organization—Suubi Women’s Health Clinic: This request was submitted by senior analyst Mariya Ho, who is part of a team that organizes fundraising events and contributes time and money to the building of a women’s health clinic in Uganda.
  • Homenetmen Scouts Boston: Cadmus is proud to once again help support payroll manager Silva Barsekhian’s request on behalf of the scouts’ quadrennial Jamboree, which gives its young members an opportunity to meet Armenians from all over the world, exchange knowledge, and assist the local community.
  • Born Again Pit Bull Rescue (BAPBR): After adopting a pit bull from the organization, human resources consultant Stephanie Blakey became an avid advocate, volunteer, and donor for this volunteer-run nonprofit that is dedicated to improving the lives of pit bull terriers.

Applications were strengthened by applicants’ active involvement with the programs and organizations in question, as well as indicated allocation for specific projects, connections to Cadmus’ mission, and, in some cases, a history of support from Cadmus. Every Cadmus employee is welcome to submit a proposal requesting a charitable contribution to a cause or organization.

About Cadmus’ Employee-Directed Charitable Giving

Cadmus launched the employee-directed charitable giving program in July 2006 to provide employees the opportunity to have a direct involvement in deciding how and where Cadmus provides charitable support. The committee meets quarterly to evaluate applications and allocate donations. Cadmus’ giving should reflect the values of its employee-owners.
