Cadmus Announces Second-Quarter Employee-Directed Charitable Donations
Waltham, Mass., December 16, 2014—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today the organizations that have been selected to receive the firm’s employee-directed charitable giving for the second financial quarter of fiscal year 2015. Cadmus’ popular employee-directed charitable giving program gives employees the opportunity to be directly involved in deciding how and where the firm provides charitable support.
“With each passing year, Cadmus’ employees continue to show the dedication and generosity that make them such an exceptional group of colleagues to work with,” said President and CEO Ian Kline. “We’re proud to mark this holiday season with support for these worthy recipients.”
This quarter’s recipients are:
Boulder Flycasters: Rob McCormack, analyst, submitted this request to benefit the Flycasters’ annual youth night. This event introduces and re-introduces local children and parents to fly fishing, stream ecology, and conservation. Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF): Cadmus matched a donation by associate Scott Davis, a longtime EFF supporter. This group is the leading nonprofit organization defending civil liberties in the digital world.
Environmental League of Massachusetts: Senior analyst Danielle Burns’ submission will support a nonprofit educational and advocacy organization dedicated to strengthening the voice and effectiveness of the environmental community in Massachusetts.
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Fred’s Team: This donation was made in support of Sean Nyhan, senior analyst. Sean ran this year’s New York City Marathon to benefit Fred’s Team, a program that raises money for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Santa Monica Arts Parents Association-Samohi Bands: Principal Richard Krop requested this donation to help cover travel expenses for Santa Monica public school band students who have been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall.
Space of Her Own, Inc. (SOHO): SOHO pairs disadvantaged preteen girls with professional women for a yearlong structured mentoring program. Cadmus’ contribution matches the donation made by SOHO supporter and board member Kathy Humphrey, associate. It will support SOHO’s campaign to recruit more mentors during National Mentoring Month in January.
The Trustees of Reservations: Cadmus principal Brad Jones, an active member and corporate trustee with this recipient, requested a donation to support energy-efficiency projects within the Massachusetts organization. The Trustees of Reservations is one of the oldest conservation groups in the United States.
Applications were strengthened by applicants’ active involvement with the programs and organizations in question, as well connections to Cadmus’ mission, and, in some cases, a history of support from Cadmus. Every Cadmus employee is welcome to submit a proposal requesting a charitable contribution to a cause or organization.
In addition to making regular allocations through the charitable giving program, Cadmus supports community partners near each of its major offices and participates in numerous donations and volunteer activities throughout the year. The committee meets quarterly to evaluate applications and allocate donations. Cadmus’ giving should reflect the values of its employee-owners.
