Cadmus Client Recognized by American Institute of Architects as a Top Green Project
Waltham, Mass., May 6, 2014—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today that the David and Lucile Packard Foundation headquarters, for which Cadmus served as the commissioning agent, has been named one of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2014 Committee on the Environment (COTE) Top Ten Green Projects. The Los Altos, California, facility is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® (LEED) Platinum certified and received Net Zero Energy Building Certification™ in 2013—the largest building to do so to date.
The COTE Top Ten Awards program recognizes each year the top ten examples of sustainable architecture and ecological design projects that protect and enhance the environment. AIA considers this the profession’s best known recognition program for sustainable design excellence.
The Packard Foundation selected Cadmus as commissioning agent based on Cadmus’ high performance building experts’ prior experience with complex LEED Platinum and net zero energy building projects. Commissioning like Cadmus conducted on the Foundation’s headquarters helps ensure all of a building’s systems function properly, to maximize efficiency and performance and minimize waste. Regular commissioning helps identify and rectify issues that waste energy and bring a building’s performance in line with its as-designed levels.
Cadmus’ experts deliver commissioning and other high performance building support for clients in all major market sectors. To learn more, visit cadmusgroup.com/hpb.
