Cadmus to Develop and Support Source Water Protection Workshop for Water Research Foundation

Waltham, Mass., March 13, 2014—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced that it has been awarded a contract with the Water Research Foundation to develop and execute a workshop for drinking water regulators and utilities to collaboratively establish a framework for evaluating source water protection programs. Protecting source water is a crucial component of the multiple barrier approach to drinking water supply that protects public health by providing safe drinking water to the public.

Cadmus is convening representatives from these two groups to facilitate a discussion of the challenges and opportunities associated with protecting source water, and to learn from participants’ existing practices to develop a common framework for evaluating programs in light of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) surface water treatment rules. Participants will also explore possible areas for further research.

Cadmus’ source water protection experts have developed and implemented workshops, along with conducting training sessions for utility and government clients to increase their understanding of science and technology, community dynamics, and other socioeconomic issues, and facilitate information sharing between various stakeholder audiences.
