Cadmus and Georgetown University Team Up On National Energy-Efficiency Prize
Washington, D.C., September 24, 2014—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today that it has signed on as a collaborator in the Georgetown University Energy Prize, a national incentive competition for communities across America to reduce their energy consumption. Through this collaboration, Georgetown University and Cadmus will transform America’s energy landscape by spurring innovative new models of community-wide energy efficiency that can be replicated and scaled across the country.
Cadmus will be working alongside Georgetown University students and faculty, as well as other public and private organizations, to support and advance the 53 communities currently competing in the quarterfinalist stage of the competition. These communities hail from all parts of the United States—from Fairbanks, Alaska, to Winter Park, Florida, and from Chula Vista, California, to Chattanooga, Tennessee—and have worked hard to make it to this phase of the competition.
“Teaming with Georgetown University in this nationwide competition is a thrilling opportunity,” said Hossein Haeri, Ph.D., senior vice president in charge of Cadmus’ energy services. “We look forward to helping participants make the best and most innovative choices as they pursue ways to make their communities more energy efficient.”
Cadmus will draw on its considerable experience with energy-efficiency programs to provide concrete tools and expertise to the competing communities as they refine and implement their plans for the competition. In addition, Cadmus experts will be available to assist communities as they develop and implement their sustainable approach to energy efficiency.
Over the next three years, Cadmus and Georgetown University Energy Prize will help these communities re-think how they use energy.

Over the course of a two-year period, the Prize will challenge small- to medium-size towns, cities, and counties to rethink their energy use, and implement creative strategies to increase efficiency. To compete for the Prize, local governments, residents, utilities, and others will need to work together to demonstrate success in sustainably reducing energy consumption.
