Cadmus President Joins Newton Marasco Foundation Executive Board

Ian Kline, president and CEO of the Cadmus Group, Inc., has been named to the executive board of the Newton Marasco Foundation (NMF), a nonprofit organization based in McLean, Va., dedicated to inspiring responsible environmental stewardship.

“I’m excited to join the NMF executive board because the foundation focuses on areas I believe are critical to a sustainable future—environmental education and community-based activities,” said Mr. Kline. “Cadmus has worked closely with NMF for more than two years, and everyone involved is tremendously impressed with the organization.”

“I’m also excited about further strengthening Cadmus’ relationship with the foundation, which provides wonderful opportunities for the firm and staff members to support an organization making a real difference in the communities where we live and work,” he said.

NMF has numerous innovative programs that foster learning, appreciation and caring for the natural environment. From the Green Earth Book Awards to the Field It program for high school students, the foundation sponsors environmental projects that inspire others and offer hands-on environmental experiences to youth. In 2006, the foundation launched a series of events, plays and a high school scholars program in honor of the centennial celebration of Rachel Carson’s birth. The foundation also educates and informs companies on sustainable green business practices and environmental ethics, and promotes the conservation and restoration of unique community ecosystems and habitats.

In 2006 Cadmus formed a long-term Strategic Giving Partnership with NMF. The company provides financial support for specific events and activities and works to identify opportunities for interested Cadmus staff members to become involved in the foundation’s work. In April 2006, Cadmus helped raise more than $10,000 for the NMF by sponsoring a performance of “A Sense of Wonder: A Play Based on the Life of Rachel Carson” and the reception and silent auction that followed.

NMF was founded by Amy Marasco Newton to honor her late husband, David Allen Newton, with whom she started the Marasco Newton Group, an environmental consulting firm. Ms. Marasco Newton sits on the boards of several companies, including Cadmus.
