Cadmus Principal Chad Laurent Appointed to Built Environment Plus Board of Directors

WALTHAM, Mass., February 28, 2023—Cadmus, a leading provider of technical and strategic expertise to governments, energy utilities, and private sector companies worldwide, announced Chad Laurent, Cadmus’ principal of sustainability and energy, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Built Environment Plus (BE+). Laurent was recognized as a board member at the group’s annual meeting on February 2, 2023, in Boston.

Laurent works with government, corporate, university, nonprofit, and municipal clients to develop clean energy supply, decarbonization, net zero, and electrification roadmaps and procurement strategies internationally and domestically, including green building initiatives in Massachusetts. He has brought his expertise in renewable energy law and policy, sustainability strategies, and renewable energy project development to bear on multiple projects providing green building technical assistance support to wastewater treatment facilities, commercial buildings, correctional facilities, and university and hospital partners.

“BE+ brings together education and opportunities for addressing the advancement of green buildings and sustainable energy programs on the state and local levels,” said Laurent. “I am honored to be appointed to the board of directors to help the group further its mission and cultivate sustainable and lasting change in our communities.”

BE+, formerly known as the USGBC Massachusetts Chapter, is a membership-based community advocating for green buildings at the state and local level. BE+ provides green building education, networking, advocacy, and leadership opportunities for the sustainable building practitioner community and beyond.

“Chad’s expertise in sustainable energy policy and his experience advising on decarbonization policy across many sectors help Cadmus’ clients make decisions that have a positive impact on the health and resilience of their communities,” said President and CEO Ian Kline. “His contributions as a board member to BE+ will provide invaluable support for the advancement of clean energy and energy efficiency in Massachusetts.”
