Cadmus Principal Jill Steiner Appointed to Michigan Energy Policy Workgroup

East Lansing, Mich., July 2, 2014—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today that Jill Steiner, a principal in the firm’s energy services division, has been appointed to a workgroup tasked with reviewing and suggesting updates to Michigan’s clean energy law. The group, the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Workgroup of the Michigan Senate’s Energy and Technology Committee, held its first meeting on June 3, 2014.

The selected workgroup participants represent a broad cross-section of public and private sector organizations, including the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Consumers Energy, and the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy. Workgroup leader State Senator Mike Nofs (R) has expressed hopes that the group will develop an updated energy bill for the Legislature to vote on by the fall.

Steiner leads Cadmus’ regulatory support group, which identifies and supports the development of frameworks that encourage investment in cost-effective energy-efficiency resources. A native of Michigan, she began her career at the Michigan Public Service Commission and has amassed more than 25 years of experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating customer service, resource acquisition, and market transformation programs. Prior to joining Cadmus, she was the manager of planning and evaluation for Snohomish Public Utility District in Washington state. As such, she was an active stakeholder participant in the development of the Northwest Power and Conservation Council’s Regional Power Plan, helping to ensure the establishment of aggressive and achievable energy-efficiency targets.
