Cadmus to Support HUD in Healthy Homes Outreach
Waltham, Mass., February 20, 2014—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today that it has been awarded a contract with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide Healthy Homes outreach for the agency’s Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control (HUD/OHHLHC). Cadmus will be supporting prime contractor Penngood with strategic planning, outreach and implementation, event planning, and voluntary guidance development.
OHHLHC oversees the implementation of the federal Advancing Healthy Housing: A Strategy for Action. This work is designed to measurably strengthen HUD/OHHLHC’s leadership in the federal healthy homes arena. Many components of the project will be developed through an interagency collaborative effort. To further implementation of the Strategy for Action, Cadmus will support a variety of initiatives including: developing a communications and outreach strategy to broadly promote healthy homes concepts to the public through the coordinated activities of the federal Healthy Homes Work Group; advancing health insurance reimbursement for preventative asthma care services by showcasing successful approaches at three regional asthma summits; and promoting smoke-free multi-unit housing policies through the development of an implementation guide based on real stories of these policies in action around the nation.
This effort builds on Cadmus’ leadership in the Healthy Homes movement in support of key federal agencies including HUD, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) to promote comprehensive, scientifically based, community-driven approaches to critical public health issues.
Cadmus is currently supporting HUD with website development for the federal healthyhomes.hud.gov website. Cadmus is a recognized leader in social marketing and behavior change, using strategic tools to influence individual, organizational, and community decisions and actions to improve public health, safeguard the environment, conserve natural resources, and promote healthy and sustainable practices and policies.
