Lightsmith Announces Investment in Cadmus, a Leading Strategic and Technical Consultancy

Accelerating Climate Resilience Solutions

NEW YORK, NY., December 4, 2023 — Lightsmith Group (“Lightsmith”), a global sustainable private equity firm, is pleased to announce its investment in Cadmus, a leading provider of technical and strategic expertise to governments, energy utilities, and private sector companies.

Lightsmith’s investment in Cadmus aligns with its focus on fast-growing climate resilience solutions companies that can help assess and manage increased risks and impacts resulting from climate change. Lightsmith Managing Director Jay Koh will join Cadmus’ board of directors and support Cadmus in both its organic and acquisition-related growth strategies.

“Climate change is already increasing shocks and stresses on communities, utilities, companies, and governments worldwide, impacting continuity of operations, infrastructure, energy supply, health, policy, and investment decisions. Climate change risk demands expertise in climate resilience,” said Jay Koh, Managing Director at the Lightsmith Group. “We are excited to work with Cadmus as it continues to achieve extraordinary results for its clients.”

Founded in 1983, Cadmus is a medium-sized strategic and technical consultancy with expertise across climate, energy, water, transportation, sustainability, security and all-hazard preparedness, public health, technology and innovation, change management, and international development. Cadmus recently acquired Nathan Associates, an international economic and analytics consultancy, more than doubling Cadmus’ U.S. federal contracting business.

“For over 40 years, Cadmus has strategically diversified its capabilities and expertise to help our clients solve the world’s most challenging problems,” said Cadmus President and Chief Executive Officer Ian Kline. “No challenge today is more pervasive and multifaceted than climate change. Lightsmith shares our commitment to making an impact and our vision for how to achieve it.”

“We welcome Lightsmith’s investment in Cadmus and Jay Koh joining its board of directors,” said Fred Iseman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CI Capital Partners, the majority investor in Cadmus.  “Lightsmith shares our vision to grow Cadmus into the leading consultant focused on climate.”
