The Nature Generation Elects Ian Kline as New Board Chair
Waltham, Mass., September 26, 2014—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today that President and CEO Ian Kline has been elected Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors by The Nature Generation (NatGen), an environmental nonprofit focused on outreach to America’s youth through innovative environmental stewardship programs in literature, science, and the arts.
“It’s a great honor to assume this role with the Nature Generation,” said Kline. “Combining nature, reading, and learning—as NatGen does—is one of the best ways to inspire kids and young adults to become the next generation of environmental stewards. NatGen’s mission and programs inspire people of all ages to connect with the wonder, joy, and mystery of the natural environment.”
As a consulting firm with a mission to improve people’s lives and protect the natural environment both through its support for clients and through its role in the community, Cadmus has formed strategic partnerships with the Nature Generation and other organizations based around its major offices. Cadmus provides ongoing donations, volunteer support, and in-kind support for Nature Generation programs throughout the year, most recently as a sponsor of the 10th annual Green Earth Book Awards ceremony on September 18, 2014.
“The Nature Generation is privileged to have Ian lead the organization and build upon our successes,” said President and Founder Amy Marasco Newton. “He has been an active member of our executive board for seven years, and understands the challenges we face in teaching our next generation to be responsible environmental stewards.”
Kline succeeds Peter Trick, also of Cadmus, who will continue to serve on the Executive Board.
Kline holds an M.P.P. in environmental policy and management from the University of Southern California and an A.B. from Cornell University, where he now serves on the advisory board of the Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise at the University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management. He also is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s comprehensive executive leadership program.
The Nature Generation is an environmental nonprofit that inspires and empowers youth to make a difference. It operates the Read Green program, the first book award program in the country to recognize authors and their books for children and young adults that teach the ethos of environmental stewardship. Through its Teach Green program, NatGen gives students the opportunity to learn about nature hands-on, through classroom games and resources, and real-life experience in nature.
