Cadmus Achieves Climate Registered Status with The Climate Registry

Waltham, Mass., November 19, 2013—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today that it has achieved Climate Registered™ status by successfully measuring its carbon footprint according to The Climate Registry’s best-in-class program, then having that data verified by a third party and reported on The Registry’s website. Cadmus, a founding member of The Climate Registry, joins 322 other leading organizations across North America in adopting a truly sustainable approach to doing business.

Cadmus is a founding member of The Climate RegistryMeasuring its carbon footprint with The Registry allows Cadmus to prepare for future regulation, identify inefficiencies and potential for cost savings, and provide real and meaningful data to its clients, stakeholders, and employee-owners about its environmental performance. Climate registration is the first step towards reducing energy usage, costs and carbon emissions.

“Cadmus is proud to be a founding member of the Climate Registry, and even prouder to have achieved Climate Registered status,” said President and CEO Ian Kline. “Our work in support of our clients helps protect our natural environment, and we extend that ethic to the governance of our own company. The level of rigor we bring to our work reflects the belief we share with The Climate Registry – that measuring our environmental impact is the first step toward making a positive impact and reducing our carbon footprint.”

Cadmus pursues a number of sustainable measures that reduce its carbon footprint as part of its commitment to responsible corporate citizenship. It is a participant in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Green Power Partnership, through which several of its offices obtain 100 percent of their electricity from renewable sources. It operates LEED®-certified offices in Portland, Ore.; Waltham, Mass.; and Irvine, Calif. Cadmus encourages its employees to commute by bicycle or mass transit through company-wide subsidies, for which it has been named among the one percent of U.S. businesses known as Best Workplaces for Commuters.

“Climate Registered organizations understand that there are both environmental and economic benefits to understanding and managing your carbon footprint,” said David Rosenheim, Executive Director of The Climate Registry. “Cadmus has become part of a powerful community of Climate Registered organizations, with substantive data guiding and supporting its sustainable activities.”
