Cadmus Wins Five-Year Contract to Support EPA’s Indoor Air Quality Efforts
The Cadmus Group, Inc. announced today that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has renewed Cadmus’ contract to provide support for the agency’s efforts to promote healthful indoor air quality.
“This is a significant win for us,” said Edward Miller, vice president of Cadmus’ voluntary programs group. “Not only does it afford us the opportunity to continue performing vital work for EPA, it also provides a springboard to continue growing our team of public health policy and social marketing experts and to pursue similar work with other clients.”
Under a new 5-year contract with the EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation’s Indoor Environments Division (IED) worth an estimated $19.95 million, Cadmus and its team of subcontractors and consultants will provide critical support in a number of areas vital to IED’s mission, including:
- The development of indoor air quality policy.
- The development and analysis of state-of-the-science information on indoor environmental risks and approaches to managing them.
- The development and implementation of communications strategies to build awareness and understanding of indoor environmental risks and control strategies.
- The development and dissemination education and outreach materials and to motivate individuals, organizations, and communities to action.
- The preparation and execution of meetings, training, conferences, workshops, and other events.
EPA and its Science Advisory Board rank indoor air pollution among the five worst environmental threats to health. Anyone may be exposed to such pollution for long periods of time at home, school, and in the workplace. These potential exposures raise the greatest concerns about health risks, according to EPA. Sources of indoor air pollution include tobacco smoke, chemicals in cleaning products, faulty HVAC systems, and combustion equipment such as gas stoves and furnaces.

Cadmus has been working with IED since 1997 and has been its prime contractor since 1999.
