Cadmus Wins $2 Million Award to Continue Support for EPA Water Research Strategy

The Cadmus Group Inc. is helping the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Water (OW) develop an integrated research strategy under a recently issued blanket purchase order worth over $2 million, the company has announced.

The new project builds on Cadmus’ earlier work in support of the successful initiation of OW’s water research management strategy by the Office of Science and Technology (OST), one of OW’s individual offices.

Cadmus will continue to work with OW-OST, the other OW offices—the Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water (OGWDW), the Office of Wastewater Management (OWM) and the Office of Wetlands, Oceans and Watersheds (OWOW)—and lead water staff members from the EPA regional offices to ensure the strategy not only reflects their needs and priorities but also becomes a joint integrated national strategy.

The joint OW strategy is necessary for the consistent communication of OW priorities within the complex planning process of EPA’s Office of Research and Development (ORD) and with EPA’s external research partners.

In the near term, Cadmus will help OW develop a framework for prioritizing its previously identified research needs. Later, those prioritized needs will be integrated into the draft OW research strategy. Other work on the project will include refining a database and software tool to track, evaluate and manage the OW research portfolio. Cadmus will also continue to aid OW’s research communication efforts and provide additional technical support to the National Water Program Research Needs and Management Strategy.
