Cadmus Green Building Team Wins Rebid of Contract to Support ENERGY STAR® Commercial and Industrial Branch
Cadmus will continue to provide analytical, technical, and outreach support to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) ENERGY STAR® Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Branch for five more years, under a recently-awarded $24 million contract.
“On the heels of our recent acquisition of the Constructive Technologies Group (CTG), this award positions Cadmus to continue to grow as a market force in green buildings and sustainability, industrial energy efficiency, and market transformation—all while protecting the environment and enhancing performance of commercial buildings and industrial facilities,” said Ian Kline, President and CEO of Cadmus.
As it has for the past 15 years, the Cadmus team of green and high-performance buildings experts and industrial specialists will provide technical support to fulfill ENERGY STAR® C&I’s mission to make commercial buildings and industrial facilities more energy efficient.
According to the U.S. EPA, commercial buildings account for 20% of the nation’s energy use and nearly a third of the energy used in commercial buildings is wasted through inefficiency. To create momentum for energy performance improvements within individual industrial sectors, EPA also organizes ENERGY STAR® Industrial Focuses, which provide industry-specific energy management tools and resources, develop the corporate structure and systems to better manage energy, and reduce energy use within an industry. Cadmus provides technical assistance and training to organizations across the country to support both of these efforts.
