Cadmus Undertakes Statewide Energy Efficiency Benchmarking Project in Utah

The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) is helping Utah develop a statewide program to benchmark the energy use of public buildings and private commercial structures.

The project is being performed under a recently awarded two-year contract with the Utah Division of Facilities Construction and Management. It will include outreach, education, and technical support for benchmarking energy use.

Cadmus will assess the market for benchmarking and energy efficiency programs to determine which sectors have the greatest potential for energy efficiency improvements and are the best targets for the state’s efforts. We also will evaluate similar energy efficiency programs to identify possible duplications of effort and opportunities to collaborate on program activities.

Cadmus will market the benefits of energy efficiency and benchmarking, our online and on-site training for energy managers and building professionals in how to use Portfolio Manager, and our technical support.

In addition, Cadmus will lead the Utah Buildings Energy Efficiency Strategies (UBEES) task force subcommittee on benchmarking. Led by the governor’s energy adviser, the UBEES task force provides leadership in energy efficiency through education, program coordination, and technical assistance.
