Cadmus Wins First Major Prime Contract with U.S. Agency for International Development

The Cadmus Group, Inc., has won its first major prime contract with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the company has announced. The contract provides global support services in environmental compliance and environmentally sound design and management for one year with an option for a second year and is expected to generate close to $16 million in revenue.

“This was a highly competitive procurement. We believe our success is the result of our reputation for technical excellence developed over several years and our unique ability to identify and tap high quality expertise. Our team looks forward to supporting USAID’s global portfolio of services,” said Jane Obbagy, vice president.

The contract is a successor to a number of region- and bureau-specific contracts, including the long-running ENCAP project (for Environmentally Sound Design and Management Capacity Building for Partners and Programs in Africa), in which Cadmus played a key technical role for several years.

“Environmentally sound design and management are critical to strong and successful development outcomes,” says Mark Stoughton, Ph.D., a Cadmus senior associate who will manage the new contract and lead its technical work.

The team Cadmus assembled for this procurement was an important factor in winning the contract, according to Weston Fisher, principal.

“Our major partner is the Ecuador-based firm Sun Mountain International, which has a strong presence in Latin America and a long history of support to USAID,” Mr. Fisher said.

The team also includes two large, veteran USAID prime contractors, Development Alternatives, Inc., (DAI) of Bethesda, Md., and World Education, Inc., of Boston, Mass., as well as Eurasia Environmental Associates, LLc.

Under the new contract the Cadmus team will provide support to USAID bureaus for Africa (AFR), Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), Asia and the Middle East, Global Health (GH), Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA), and Economic Growth, Agriculture & Trade (EGAT).
