The Cadmus Group Names Ian Kline Chief Executive Officer; Architect of Current Growth Strategy Continues Path Started by Founders

Watertown, Mass. (July 16, 2007) — The Cadmus Group, Inc. today announced its board of directors has appointed company president Ian Kline to be chief executive officer (CEO). This appointment continues a succession plan established by the founders and board of directors to ensure a successful transition to the company’s next generation of leadership and to position the firm for increasingly rapid growth.

“Cadmus is indeed fortunate to have a CEO with the vision, energy, and strength of purpose that Ian has,” said Gene Fax, Cadmus’ chairman and co-founder. “In his two years as president, Ian has shown great leadership and delivered excellent results. His new position will give him the tools to lead us to even greater achievements.”

Mr. Kline succeeds former CEO Ralph T. Jones, Ph.D., a co-founder of the company. Dr. Jones remains with the firm as managing director. In addition to continuing to serve as a board member and an expert consultant to the firm’s clients, Dr. Jones will lead the firm’s federal marketing efforts, which are a key part of Cadmus’ long-term growth strategy.

“The board and I are delighted by Ralph’s continued role with the firm,” said Mr. Fax. “His contributions to our clients and his leadership on key corporate initiatives will be invaluable.”

Mr. Kline joined Cadmus as an associate in 1995, and he became a senior associate two years later. He was named a principal in 1999 and a vice president in 2000. As a vice president, Mr. Kline managed two of the company’s operating groups. He became president of Cadmus in August 2005.

Since joining Cadmus, Mr. Kline has provided strategic and technical advice to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, state governments, and commercial clients. Much of his consulting work has focused on the development and implementation of innovative, non-regulatory programs that help governments and other stakeholders better protect public health and the environment.

Mr. Kline developed and began to implement a new seven-year growth strategy under Dr. Jones’ leadership as CEO.  Revenues of the employee-owned Cadmus have grown steadily since Mr. Kline was named president in 2005 and net income has increased by more than 66%. Cadmus posted revenues in excess of $30 million during FY06, an increase of more than 9% over the previous fiscal year.

“I’m honored to have been named CEO of Cadmus, and I appreciate the confidence shown by Ralph Jones, Gene Fax, and the members of the board of directors in appointing me to the position,” said Mr. Kline. “These are exciting times for Cadmus, and the company is poised for significant growth over the next few years. I’m particularly indebted to Ralph for his leadership, advice, and guidance since I joined Cadmus.”

“I also appreciate the hard work and dedication of our entire staff. I feel fortunate to work with an outstanding group of people who are wholly committed to the firm and our clients’ success,” he said. “Cadmus has grown from a two-person organization in the early 1980s to a dynamic and successful consulting firm thanks to the vision of the founders and to what has truly been a team effort for almost a quarter of a century.”

Mr. Kline also joins the Cadmus Board of Directors, which comprises Mr. Fax and Dr. Jones; Amy Marasco Newton, president of the Newton Marasco Foundation; and P. Ranganath Nayak, Ph.D., CEO of Cytel, Inc.

Before joining Cadmus, Mr. Kline held positions at Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, and the National Wildlife Federation.

Ian Kline holds an M.P.P in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Southern California and an A.B. in Social and Environmental Studies from Cornell University. He is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s program for management development, a comprehensive executive leadership program for high-potential managers.
