EU Integration Forum

The annual conferences brought together young political decision-makers to shape the Union’s future

Client: Robert Bosch Stiftung

2010-2015

The EU Integration Forum of the Robert Bosch Stiftung brought together young political decision-makers from all 28 EU Members States and from all levels of government to debate the challenges facing the European Union. The annual conferences created an EU-wide network of young leaders and thinkers committed to shaping the Union’s future. The first EU Integration Forum took place in September 2011 in Essen. To deepen the discussions, strengthen the network and establish links with different issues of relevance for the Union, further fora were implemented in November 2012, 2013, and 2014 in various European cities (such as Rome and Prague). The 2015 Forum 2015 took place in Manchester and tackled the issue of confidence in democracy and democratic institutions. Participants discussed how to restore faith in democracy amid widespread evidence of public disillusionment with traditional political parties, political elites, and policy-making processes in many EU countries.
