Client: Horizon 2020
Partner: Consortium of 33 project partners (research organizations, innovation clusters, public authorities, etc.) and 15 SMEs

2020-Ongoing

oPen Lab aims to revitalise urban areas across Europe, leading the transition to Positive Energy Neighbourhoods.

OPEN Lab will develop models for redesigning and retrofitting our existing buildings and neighbourhoods, making them future-proof, with a positive impact on climate mitigation and a minimised environmental footprint. This will be achieved by developing and testing integrated, participatory and neighbourhood-level approaches. At the centre is the development of open innovation living labs in Genk (BE), Pamplona (ES) and Tartu (EE), enabling co-creation between the construction value chain, local governments, research and citizens.

ifok tasks include supporting the citizen outreach and participation element of the labs in conjunction with all stakeholders involved, including the private sector, public authorities, housing companies, SMEs, etc.
