Did you know that ridehail drivers are making the switch to EVs four times faster than the general population? Ridehail is a natural fit for electrification by offering a significant operational savings to high-mileage drivers. However, there are still barriers to widespread adoption of EVs by drivers due to vehicle cost, vehicle availability, and access to charging.
Uber partnered with Cadmus to help assess the ridehail market in the US and Canada and develop a comprehensive set of actions that catalyze further EV adoption in this critical sector. We convened an expert roundtable with representatives across sectors including government, utilities, transportation network companies (TNCs), automakers, researchers, and NGOs to discuss how to shift ridehail to a zero-emissions future. The outcome of this roundtable is the white paper, “Electrifying Ridehail in the U.S. and Canada: Strategies for a more efficient transportation sector,” which is available using the button below.
This is the second in a series of regional white papers on the subject of ridehail electrification. The first white paper was published in 2024 and focused on electric mobility in Europe. Similar white papers focused on India and Brazil will be made available in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
