As reported by DOE in its announcement of the winners, the competition “connected utilities with interdisciplinary teams of software developers and data experts to transform digital systems in the energy sector through data analytics, processing, quality assurance, storage, and deletion.”

Working with Bonneville Power Administration, Cadmus used load modeling to help correctly forecast future power demands, specifically addressing the dynamic nature of weather-sensitive loads for residential and commercial buildings.

The Cadmus team consisted of interdisciplinary experts from service areas across the firm to develop its innovative solutions. The award-winning project was led by Vice President of Analytics and Data Science Jim Sprague and Director of Business Development Vince Bonifera, with support from team members Aaron Elliott, Matthew Baranoff, Shreekar Pradhan, Ben Resek, Celeste Smith, and Chad Laurent.

“Congratulations to the Cadmus team on winning Phase 2 of the inaugural American-Made Digitizing Utilities Prize!” said President and CEO Ian Kline. “For more than three decades, we’ve been proud to pioneer strategies and methods that help utilities ensure efficient and reliable energy supplies for their customers. That legacy continues with our industry-leading data solutions.”
