In 2019, Cadmus helped the Association of State Drinking Water Administrators (ASDWA) update a resource needs analysis. Expanding on past studies, this analysis focused on state-specific needs and emerging issues, highlighting the underfunding of state drinking water programs. It assessed the national workload needed to implement regulations and protect public health. Since then, Cadmus has completed six state-specific resource needs analyses.
Cadmus experts have helped the EPA, federal partners, states, and water utilities protect drinking water at its source. Source water protection lies at the intersection of the Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act and is a key part of the multi-barrier approach to safeguarding drinking water. These efforts also offer co-benefits like restoring wildlife habitats and improving water quality for recreation.
The Land Investment for Transformation (LIFT) program,1 funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), distributed over 14 million geo-referenced land certificates to more than 6.5 million farmers.
